Questions about scores...

Postby Nico_Scotz on Sat Jan 18, 2025 3:27 am

Hello, I just played my first 2 rounds ever and I wanted to know how some players manage to:

- drive balls so far.
- birdie almost every hole
- eagle almost every par 5
- score 50s every round as if it were normal

Sometimes, I feel like I'm on Wgt.com...

I should point out that I play Powerstroke, which, for me, is the most realistic (I'm also physically lucky to be able to play like that) and that a score of 66 or 67 is really already a very good performance. As in real life, I want to tell you... But there, I will never be able to fight for victory against someone who scores between 50 and 55 every round, even on leagues/Handicap Tours, I think..

I'm a little angry but I would have liked some details please

hello, welcome aboard :D
well, many of us in here, have been playing since the mid 1990s - especially teeing off in 1997 with the Links LS series. And we have played thousands upon thousands of Links rounds, and practice and practiced hundreds of hours till the hands bled 8) to the point where shooting in the 50s - scoring birdies on most holes in any condition has become quite simple.

if you do the same, you too will shoot low.

Nico, with Links you will find a really big range of scores. Everyone is playing the same game, but we're not limited by the quality of our equipment, and as with all computerized games, there are some minor glitches in the programming. Those are only two of the many factors involved in game play though. Concentration, precision, reaction time, years of repetition and some serious devotion to the game are all involved along with the ability to figure out a way to gain an advantage that others may not have discovered and to use your skills to defeat your competition.

But if you want to enjoy playing, figure out what your skill level is and what the conditions are when you most enjoy playing the game. Then find the groups that use those conditions when they play. And look for the players that shoot scores that are competitive with your scores. For example, I play RTS, and I have gotten too old to play real golf so I view Links as a golf simulator, and I play against par using conditions that, overall, are as difficult as I can find. I ignore the ridiculously low scores (they have different goals from mine) and compete against the scores that are closer to par. And, most important of all, I have fun when I play!

Thank you all, I regret there are no more players in POWERSTROKE tournaments. Scores are pretty like mine. Does a league exist which suits the PGA schedule in challenging conditions and in POWERSTROKE only?

Can I create such a Tour?

Hi nico

I play on game ranger and often see rooms there with power stroke only players.

I think you will also find others here that prefer power stroke versus other methods.

Hope you have a lot of fun!

to fairways and greens ...
