PGA National: Very Weird Thing

Has anyone else encountered anything strange with balls ricocheting in another direction - without obvious explanation. See attached saved shot - will need to view from Dynamic View in order to see what the ball does after entering bunker.

Seems like it hit an invisible object. Quite lucky for you tho with the result. The biggest question i have is...did you make the eagle?

I did. Very fortunate that it stopped on the green and didn't fly off the other side of the green.

Did you also notice the velocity that it ricochet out of the bunker was greater than the velocity it entered the bunker?!? Very weird.

Heh, I feel the same thing when I hit a green after an approach from the rough. I swear the ball speeds up as it travels toward the back of the green, even if the green is level or uphill towards the back (I realize it's just my imagination...or is it? )

Just finished my second round in pro. Missed one fairway, my first. Hit from deep stuff and ball just kept rolling before green and off the left side. Looked like the fringe but said rough and a plugged lie. What? Oh well, on to the gusty round.

Speaking for windy rounds. A question for everyone. Do you get some breeze rounds that kind of act like gusty rounds in the fluctuation? And then some breezes rounds that hardly move from where it starts to blow? My last round was kind of gusty as had to change up or down in my stance and sometimes just got fed up with it and just hit it.

Definitely have some breezy rounds where the fluctuations seem to be very slow in happening and it really tests the patience as you said. Sometimes I find a gusty round easier than breezy as the wind speed changes much quicker and you can stay in rythym better.

You noticed it too? My 2nd round was set as a breezy round which usually means you'll get very little push when wind is blowing across a fairway. I can't remember which hole it was but it was early in the round. Wind was blowing left to right across fairway. I check the wind meter and it was barely registering any wind. I had my aim marker already aligned to the left of the fairway and I teed-off. Shocked when ball traversed entire width of the fairway and landed extreme right of fairway/first-cut. I look down at wind meter and it fills half the meter. It only took me second to tee off. The whole round really played much like a gusty round.

Good to see I'm not the only one that has this. Just part of the game that makes it fun...

Roy, nice 3 perfect rounds so far. :D
