Doug, (MM), you have the advantage here with the narrow fairway and deep rough. I have been snapping a little early the past few weeks and even when I aim on the right side of the fairway and snap a little early I am ending up in the deep stuff. Can't even think of hitting the green and try to play somewhat short in the fairway and hope to make par. Now throw in the wind and gusty. Doing a lot of yelling here at the home front. :D

I have to apologize to all players. If you notice burnt grass on the lips of almost ever cup, I'm responsible.

Maybe the easiest course on tour if you hit fairways. Otherwise.... and which explains my poor play so far.

It is what it is. It's a nine year old beta that is in hard-drive heaven. Unless someone wants to start from scratch, we just have to live with it.Just my nickels worth.

The only thing BETA about is one seam blend that really doesn't come into play. It's just that Glenn lost a hard drive containing this course. I still have the original. If I had all the "objects" Glenn seems to have I'd go for a redo. I don't and that is the difference between what I've got and the work Glenn did.

Yes Jim RTS makes hitting the fairways alot easier. But thats where the party ends. In c/c the rest is educated guessing imo.
In classic there is a swing meter, rts does not have one. You simply slide the mouse back an gently push it forward.
The problem lies with the fact that club head speed differs on most every shot, so you always get different distances.
For example the Driver varies from 112 to 121 mph, which can be a big difference in yds. a 4iron usually varies
85 to 90 miles per/hour. so your approach can easily be 25 or 30 feet long or short. Or it can be very close to
the hole. Also the woods play very long ex? the 5,4,3 an 6 woods can easily go 25 to 30 yds long. Then finally there
is the chipping. A learning process. An last but not least is the putting. Just a feel thing. You never know what
to expect. I am not sure about RTS in pro, it seems to be different than c/c.
I would rather play classic, but im terrible at hitting dot 6. I do manage in pro but not c/c.

I wasn't taking offense. Just trying to explain my own frustration. Like I said, the seam blend doesn't really come into play, but it still drives me nuts to know it's there and nothing to be done about it.

I agree. I've tried it and approaches and putts are tough.

Yes, Doug and Doug. I have tried RTS and it isn't that easy. At least after the drive. Plus it takes me a lot longer to set up the next shot after the drive esp. after throwing in any kind of wind. Doug (MM), do you have any kind of chart/formula that you use for C/C greens as I know you use step counting? I kind of do but then have to guess-ta-mate on the aim point as you can't see the numbers in champ mode. Is that a word? I think the ones that uses the aiming stick, (Roy, Echoes I think and others) don't have that problem. Just a guess. That's why they play the RAW events also. Doug (GFI) Ronnie and Dirk, which method do you use?
