terrell wrote:just noticed: you posted in the links 2001 forum. is pinehurst #2 2008 even supposed to work with links 2001?
there is a hesitation at 20 percent, but it quickly continues to 100 percent.
make sure antialiasing and anisotropic filtering are set to application-controlled. and maybe move the picture quality slider a notch or two to the left.
ya might also try redownloading the course. i just tried the copy i downloaded last year and it worked fine (with a hesitation at 20 percent). so i deleted that and redownloaded from linkscorner:
http://linkscorner.org/download/index.php?type=course&crz=1836
(their bandwidth is back, btw, i kicked off the download, read an email, and the notifier popped up to tell me it was done). replaced my copy with the new download through course manager, pinehurst still works.
the trouble is in your set. (8

The bug with the ball bouncing off the edge of the cup was insanely frustrating.

I thought that was gone, but I guess it wasn't or isn't.
That cost me dearly a few times. It was either Course #2 or Course #8 it did that 45 yds into the water.
Was a bummer.

Well, Joe, I still think Links 2001 is the best, and most realistic (both playing and looking) golf sim ever marketed.
As for the "rubber cup" issue, I have experienced this primarily on only one course...Stone Canyon. Very rarely on any other course. So rarely, in fact, as to be a non-issue.
BruceWallace wrote:Wow! A name from the past. How are you doing droogy? Way back when, you were the best defender of Links 2001. Did you ever get Links 2003?
I thought that you did, but that was a number of years ago, when you were posting about Links 2001. If you did get Links 2003, you would see your error in saying 2001 was the best looking version.
