Technical Problem RUKSHUK.ICD

Just bought a new computer and loaded LINKS2003 but came up with the above problem
Can anyone help please ??

Thanks Gibby, but the problem occurred when I file transferred from Windows XP Pro on my olde worlde computer to Vista on the new one. Tried to play Links 2003 and it "bombed out" with the message about RUKSHUK. I am confused about it being a VIRUS problem, I don't have AVG on the new computer, only McAfee. Is it the latter causing the hiatus?

your saying you file tranfered Links from your xp computer to a vista computer?
try installing links on the new one with the disks, may not have tranfered everything.

JUST FYI-

I also have Vista now and I still get Rukshuk error to this day. I have tried EVERY fix (tried "fixt" rukshuk link Mark provided and the one from Gamecopyworld, recopied ruk from origianl 2003 cd; even repaid for d/l version of links even tho i have original cd's) short of renaming my additional drive letters...HOWEVER, it seems the error does NOT affect the launching of the game (after I click ANY of the options/continue/retry/cancel) and online play or tour play...Sooo I been "livin' w/it"-The game runs fine but that rukshuck is IRKSOME-

Just fyi Wwoods-Try it and see if YOU have any anomolies...I have NOT renamed my extra drive letters YET as it still launches/plays links ok-Maybe THAT"S the golden answer...(too scared to try)-

available a free download of a new RuksHuk.EXE that solved the problem.

1. do a fresh install of Links2003
2. download the replacement RuksHuk.EXE from LSPN here >>>>>> http://www.lspn.net/downloads/RuKsHuK.exe
3. move the newly downloaded RuksHuk.EXE into the folder where the original RuksHuk.EXE is. In other words, overwrite the old RuksHuk.EXE with the new one.

reboot, start Links, problem should be solved.

Installed Links 2003 on my wife's laptop w/Vista had no issuses with anything except swing meter being like the Daytona 500.
connected fine,loaded ok, no errors or any drive letter problems. just my take on it.

Did all Muliganman suggested...NO joy-4th reinstallation from orig cd's...
MIGHT it be from installing from a DVD ROM combo drive?

I have Norton 360 and i thought i would have a problem but all is running smooth . Back up is great for all the course

I'd delete the Avast. Too many false positives, when I used it, about a year ago.

I wish to convey my thanks to all for your suggestions. The problem is now solved partially, I say Partially because I now have to get to play online next, slight problems encountered

I am running Vista Ultimate SP1 and Avast 4.8 and have no problems with RUKSHUK.ICD nor RUKSHUK.EXE being identified as having a virus or being otherwise infected.
