We can only hope that "if" there is a new version, it is not too filled with bells and whistles. Moving grass, trees and little animals running around a course are fun at first glance, but when it comes right down to it, we like to see the ball drop in the hole. What happens in terms of special effects on the way, well, Tiger Woods has over done it in that department and on my game, I have turned off most of the effects.
