courses not available??

Postby Jimboroks1 on Tue Oct 17, 2006 5:24 pm

I am not able to play some tournaments, because although,I have the course(and they are in the game),the computer thinks otherwise. I have looked several times and they are in the game.

Try re-adding them through the Course Manager. Tell it "Yes" when it asks if you want to replace them, and also if you want them copied to the "Courses" folder.

I had this problem with Sea Island and doing the above worked for me.

Other people have said the same thing. Can we get a list of courses that are causing this problem?

Also, along with posting the course, can you post the course ID?

Thanks,

Mark

I have never had this problem come up myself with a Microsoft course, but I have everyone ever made.

So I am wondering can it be you do-not have the proper version they are using in that tourney, as there are five versions.

  1. Pinehurst - 2 (2000) - Cpinehu2.CRZ
  2. Pinehurst - 2 (386) - Pinehurs.CRZ
  3. Pinehurst - 2 (LS) - Apinehur.CRZ
  4. Pinehurst - 2 (LS) - Pinehur2.CRZ
  5. Pinehurst - 2 (LS) - Apinehu2.CRZ

This has been a plague on the game for many years. I have 498 courses in my course manager and only God knows how many on extra discs and still run into this problem with other peeps. The only reason I can come up with is some downloads can be corrupted, or as you unzipped and transfer some machines do not transfer correctly. I know that when I have compared the file size to other players of the same course there could be as much as 1 MB difference sometimes or the file ID could be corrupt. I believe this will happen more in the user created tourneys than anywhere else.
Maybe someone like the peeps at Links Corner can compile a list of the best 200 courses of all time with ID #'s and then creators can check their version against that list. Please only the latest versions. User Tourney directors need to double check these lists and numbers before creating an event.
Just a thought though.
