Barton Creek 5th hole

Roy, don't know how you or some others can reach the par 5 in two to eagle it. Tried a few times in practice and I have to hit a perfect overswing only to get it into the rough to the left of that green. I have not seen any other eagle from pro or ammy yet to do it but the week is young. I decided to play this event in Elite this week. Gosh, forgot how much further I have to aim with my second shots. Two no wind rounds so far with only a couple of bad holes.

driver punch - i notch back fully overhit to the end at 3 o'clock, aim for very left side of fairway where it will roll down most of the slope giving a slight downhill lie on 2nd shot. Then 3 wood FLOP, fully overhit to the end at 3 o'clock.

only adviseable in Ammy mode tho

EDIT: round 2 hole 5 ....... nyuck nyuck nyuck nyuck 8)

I doubt there's one person who would agree but Elite is THE best way to play this game. I rarely play it now, as nobody else does, as the competion isnt there. Plus I'm getting old so the easy stuff in terms of scoring ,pro and ammy , is the way to go.

Like you its hard to judge how far you have to aim from sloping lies. Hard to believe at times. My attempt on the first just about stayed on the green ! Then my approach on the par 5 8th was a 6 iron. I was carefull to aim a lot further right than I actually believed was necessary. Missed the snap earlier by a hair and went into water on the left... by a long way.
Played very well overall , especially making putss then again 18 missed a fraction early and was luck to see the ball in play. Another par on a par 5. Got lucky on the par5 15th where I allowed too much but saw the ball bounce to 5 feet from the slope on the right of the green.

Yea, that was a lot of fun. Scored better than I thought I would. I scored better off the tee and GIR than you but putt for dough. :D No step counting for Elite and I don't use the BLI. A quick look at the Green screen and putt away. Also, my driving distance was a little longer? For Elite, I don't have a driver in the bag but use a 2Wood for maybe a little more accurate. Must have hit some down slopes off the tee.

Overall I putted quite well , just a few poor ones in round 3. Off the T I do have a 1W in the bag although use it sparingly. My worst holes were 7 and 13 where I m sure I missed the fairway 6 out of 8 and went OB on one of the . Hit OB/ water 3 times overall.

The approach on 18 was scary in round 3. I’ve learned playing pro how easy it is to fall short a guarantee at least a bogey so I deliberately played to play safe and hope for a 2 putt birdie.

I think I’ll play more elite rounds from now on.
