PLSA next two weeks

Two very familiar courses coming up, Muirfield and Pinehurst #2. Familiar, not necessarily easy.

Good luck to all.

Really dumb on #12 in Round #1. Absent-mindedly picked 5-wood when I meant 5 iron. Cost a double in a tourney where every stroke will count. Geeeesh!

You don't have your caddie pick a club for you? It's usually close to what is needed except for maybe up or back in the stance or at least one club difference.

Last week in the plsa cc, this happened to me.
The caddie had a 5 iron out, but i wanted a 4 iron. So, by mistake
i picked 4 wood an the double bogie is history. But, wait on the next 4 holes i was putting
medium fast when the green was soft fast. That long to understand why
my putts were coming up short. Going from rts straight to classic is confusing
in many ways. But not in what club you pick (lol) :)

Caddy picked a 4 iron and decided to go with a hard 5.

I don't carry a SW. The Caddie always gives me a LW when the shot requires a PW. I got to watch many a shot fall short of the target. Thanks Caddie! :o

Soft and Soft(C) perplex me. If you hit at the hole or 2-3 feet beyond, it sucks back off the green. If you hit 20 ft past the hole, it sucks back not at all. I think it's the designers having fun.

oh so true for me as well, and kudos to the designers since this game remains so "playable"

my caddy comes from a shack and even though we get along (unless playing the raw tourney) I do not trust the club selection. I am grateful for not having to carry my own clubs :)

Double rnd 1
Triple rnd 2
Double rnd 3

... has really taken a toll... all water related. I [censored] up the swing I don't mind. When I think I've hit the perfect shot... I mind. Oh well.

Was happy with scrambling... but who wants to scramble?

I love scrambling, massively important and great fun when you get away with it.

The only way I had a chance of winning the Pro event was trying for those stupid par 5's in two. Third round I failed on two and the other two pars was the heat coming out of my ears. Oh well. The other two I just laid up.

Well, nobody should be fretting MC/FC on the final round. Pin positions are not difficult.

About two weeks before The Memorial, I went into practice mode to make sure the MC/FC pin positions for Round #4 were fair. I used Muirfield Village Golf Club instead of Murifield Village G C. PANIC MODE. Pins were ridiculous. Fortunately I discovered my mistake and the pin positions for Murifield Village G C were suitable... almost too much so.

Having watched the tourney on TV this year, next year expect...

No Wind Soft/C Medium/C Back
No Wind Soft/C Fast/C Middle
Breezy Moderate/C Fast/C Back
Breezy Firm/C Fast/C Back

I've played FC/FC with this year's Round #4 pin positions and was able to shoot -5. I did have one chip-in and two eagles but the pin positions are still fair all the way around.
