for all of the long time veterans who have been playing events on this site for a long time, this is the time to step up and put in some bucks when it will count.
we users now control the game. there are three main sites, each with different functions. LC is a central community site which has all the files and a long history of course reviews. apcd-courses is the technical site that supports all the designers of whatever level of expertise, and has members who are the driving technical force as the users have taken over the game. the (access, microsoft, indie) lspn site has always been the mass playing site for the many players that want to simply click and play, and want a wide range of events to choose from and the largest fields. the lspn site has never had the security provisions of verified games like other sites, but once the site gets going, there are ways of dealing with certain problems that in the past were not considered possible in the recent corporate past.
we are now like the model railroad club hobbyists. we have our technical specialists, our designers, and the many regular rank and file players. all have a necessary function if our hobby is going to remain healthy.
this site could use some bucks now, even if mark has not asked. i've been an annual paid up member at apcd-courses, and if ian at LC needs bucks i'll be there too. this is still a fun game, and a few bucks tossed in the hat now by the guys who have enjoyed playing here over the years isn't asking too much. we now hold our own fate in our own hands. if we plow some bucks into this site now, we can assure that this site will become fully operational. once that happens, the basic hardcore player population that has previously been a constant over the years and all the links versions will gradually start showing up as the word gets around. lw
