Newbie to on line play- Question

Over the last several days, I've tried connecting using Match Maker. Sometimes I get a good connect and sometimes I get connect failed. This is without making any changes. Works fine sometimes and sometimes connect failed. I'd say about half the time I try to use Match Maker. Any ideas why?

over the last 3 or 4 days, the matchmaker server has been hit and miss, hopefully it will be back to normal very soon

Thanks for the reply. I kind of had a hunch there was a problem with the server,but since I just started playing on line, didn't know if this was a normal thing for Match Maker.
