Taking a screen shot in Links 2003 running windows 7

Postby OFC_LACY on Wed Jul 14, 2010 2:45 pm

Does anyone know how to take a screen shot in Links 2003 running windows 7? I tried to take a screen shot using control F10 and using alt F10, but when I look for the screen shot in Links to send in my scorecard there is no screen shot. Any help would be appreciated.

According to Melvin Henry over at KISS Tours;

C:Program Data/Links 2003 contains Course Data, MOPS, News, Players (PIN file)

C;Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Games/Links 2003 contains the Gamestat.txt and Score.txt. You will also find the MOPTOTAL.txt for Stableford + tournaments.

Libraries/Documents/My Documents/Links 2003 This holds Career, Recorded Players (I think rec files automatically save here, I direct my verify files to this folder as well), Saved Games, and Saved Shots.

Hope this helps,
Jim

I haven't been able to do get ALT+F10 or CTRL+F10 to work in Links 2003 with Windows 7 either, but as a workaround:

Press ALT+PRTSC (print screen)
ALT+TAB to your desktop
Open Paint
Right-click in the drawing box and select paste
Save to any desired location.

It's a little bit of a pain but it works.

ALT + PRTSC is about the only way to go as far as I know, and it works fine.
It puts the image on the clipboard,
Then, as Ernie says, you can paste it in any photo editing program ( Paint, Photoshop, Paintshop etc etc)
Once there you can save it as a jpeg or any other type you program allows.
It is not that bad

Guys this works!

ALT+F10 or CTRL+F10 all pics taken are in C:Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Games/Links 2003 as either jpeg or bitmaps! it works as it did in XP. I use all the time to take screenies of my currrent Course build posted on my blog.

OK, I finally got this to work by clicking on the Compatability Files link at the top of the C:/Program Files(x86)/Microsoft Games/Links2003 folder to show those files. Wow, I guess previously tried ALT+F10 a few hundered times - time to clean out that folder

For some reason, if I go too the same path you guys use, I don't have the compatability files tab but I get it when I go too...computer/program files(x86)/Links 2003. Thanks

Go to KISS Tours site, click on Tour Rules (far right) - then Stableford Rules -- in the first like it says the tour uses a custom MOP -- high-light that and click on it. Then download it and put it in your MOP folder.

I say that from now on we recycle all old posts, tacking on any particular subject to any relevant or irrelevant existing post, thus saving the 'massive' amounts of storage needed by constantly adding new subject lines to the database.

It will be in \Users\<user>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Links 2003.

Each time you press Ctl-F10 (.jpg) or Alt-F10 (.bmp), it should increment the file (but sometimes it does not)

screen0000.jpg or (.bmp)
screen0001.jpg or (.bmp)
screen0002.jpg or (.bmp)
screen0003.jpg or (.bmp)

Hope this helps. It DOES work.
