java quick starter causes a wonkie swing meter

i was having problems with my swing meter the other day (not as smooth as i'm used to), so i started task manager and noticed jqs.exe running and causing a 12 percent blip in the cpu usage.

i do goto sites that have java applets running, but disabling java quick starter doesn't have any noticeable effect on my browsing experience (equals most java applets are annoying anyway).
