Exception Processing Message

Postby Bassmaster on Sun Jul 29, 2007 8:20 am

Got a new computer a couple months back and after re-loading Links 2003 upon starting every game I get a Exception Processing Message 0xc0000013 Parameters 0x75C6023C 0x84675C84 0x75C6023C 0x75C6023C pop up every time I fire up Links. I press continue and the game will start up normally. I've tried starting Links with the cd #1 in and tried putting it in after the message but to no help. Its no big deal because I can play the game just fine. Is this maybe a Windows Vista thing?

I have windows vista. Don't know how to open computer in safe mode due to the fact I have no manuals what so ever. Will try the safe mode opening when I figure that out. Thank you.

Have been getting the same error message for a while Rick, mine won't disappear with the #1 Links disc either. Have run NoCD patch etc, no good. THEN, as mentioned in a previous thread, I happened to leave the DVD version of a game called Far Cry in my player. Lo and behold the error message disappeared. It never pops up when the Far Cry DVD is in the drive. Remove the DVD and the error comes back. I have yet to try other DVD's - but its a lead you might want to follow up.

Am not running VISTA - still using XP Home (sp2) - so I don't think the error message is purely a Vista thing.

EDIT: Intrigued I tried several things - put Far Cry DVD in and booted Links - no error popup.
Removed DVD - booted Links no error popup (CD/DVD drives empty). Rebooted computer - booted Links (drives empty) error popup returns. Will try a few more and let you know.

EDIT2: Ok, have tried several discs, results;

TOCA2 DVD - popup error still there
Original Links Disc #1 - popup error still there
Several DVD Magazine Demo Discs - popup error disappears! (re-appears after computer reboot).

EDIT3: Most interestingly I booted Links with a few MOVIE DVD's (Lord of the Rings, Matrix, The Day After Tomorrow, Chicago) in the DVD drive (I didn't watch any of them, the discs were simply left in the DVD drive). Result ... pupup error disappears! (sadly reappears after computer re-boot and no disc in drive.)

So techie types ... any thoughts about what might be on the DVD's mentioned above that poor Links is looking so avidly for?

Hey T .. and Rick too - following on with my experiments with DVD's I thought I'd try changing my card reader ids again - I did it last time changing F,G,H and I to M, N, O and P and that didn't work, the error popup still appeared. However I changed them this time to W,X,Y and Z and lo and behold that did the trick .. the error popup seems to have permanently disappeared.

I'd still like to know why DVD's of some types also corrected the fault, even though only till the next boot.

Followed your post Terrell, I changed the removable drive letters to V, W ,X, Y, and Z and re-booted. Started Links 2003 and the game game fired right up without the exception codes. Will play some more golf and see what happens. Thank you Terrell and everyone else for your help!
