out of range

Sometimes while playing a round, on a shorter hole , I will aim well within range ,however, the game will tell me it is out of range and I wind up having to hit an extremely short shot. Why is this? Apple Mountain has at least one such hole.

The only time I've seen this it's not referring to distance. It's more of a line of sight thing. You need to rotate your player to the marker position.

Click on "Rotate" at bottom of the screen, then click on the flag icon.
This will rotate your player to the flag, and avoid being out of range.

No, the aim stick has to be in range. You have to rotate accordingly.Image

Yes, you can place the aiming stick (aim) anywhere, then rotate your player toward it (to hit the shot), whether Links says your initial aim is out of range or not.
