I can join games, but I can't host - any ideas?

Hello. I don't have any trouble joining a game hosted by someone else, but I've tried to host and the conn always fails. I thought someone else may have had the same issue and might be able to help me figure this out. Anyone?

This is a common problem. Many players(including myself) have the proper ports opened but still cannot host. When I'm in Matchmaker, 9/10 players are sitting around waiting for someone who can host to show up.
Looks like the network aspect of Links needs an overhaul.

Don't feel bad I can't host a game either, but I think it's because I'm running my PC through a router rather than running it directly from my modem which is in another room. That could be what your problem is if your running your PC through a router....

No router high speed cable modem.

your firewall has to be configured to allow links access.

easy way to check is to turn off firewall and try to host.

if you can, then it is the firewall.
