game gets choppy

Postby Drpinseeker on Mon Apr 18, 2016 2:33 pm

Hey, I was wondering if anyone else had a problem with the game getting choppy. I can still play but it takes forever, like something is running in the background. This only happens on occasion, I checked the task manager and the game is the only thing that is running. MY driver is up to date and no scans are running. I took the tower down to my computer guy and he said memory is fine, it was a problem with the game. I downloaded Harbor Town Golf Links to play this past weekend and this is when it started. I deleted the file but it is happening on other courses. The best way to describe it is I will move the mouse and nothing happens for 3 or 4 sec. then the curser will move. The swing meter is largely unchanged but after I hit it takes 4 to 5 sec. for the animation to hit the ball. It took an hour to play 16 holes.
Any ideas? Thanks Drpinseeker

when you say the only thing running is links when looking at your task manager you are looking at applications, look at processes and look for 6 digit usage.

Have you tried going into Graphics Options and moving the picture quality slider all the way to the left? Harbour Town has some large files and it does take more juice to do the redraws.

Had a g500 mouse erratic left click contact, changed it to lefthand and used right click worked great. Can't hurt to try if contacts acting up

Get System Mechanic here : http://www.amantitour.com/solution.html

It is for me the best cleaner on the internet and I never have problem with slow computer. It will clean your registry, memory, junk files, all the bad cookies and a lot more it does more than 200 things.

It can also do a disk clean-up and a defragmentation better than Windows can do. and un us it is about 25.$ for a year.

If you don't how it work ... send me an e-mail or PM.

Good luck

tried the mouse configure, tried to minimize graphics, still choppy. I dread reinstalling the game with all the patches but it looks as though that's my last option. This happened twice before and I would just shut it down and later that day it would be fine. Now as soon as the 1st screen comes up it starts. not tech savvy enough to look at the processes on task manager..don't know what I'm looking for. When I took it to my computer guy he hooked his mouse and monitor up and it did the same thing. He said memory and video card are fine. He said it was a game issue, just wondering why it happened all of a sudden.

It's strange because my swing meter seems fine, it pauses occasionally but not bad, after I hit it takes 5 to 10 secs for my golfer to strike the ball and then another 5 to 10 secs for the shot to play out.

sorry just remembering things. This actually starts before I get into the game. On the menu screen the curser will freeze then go then freeze then go...The mouse is fine everywhere else and the computer runs great everywhere else. I fear a reinstall...lol

I'M 100% SURE IT IS NOT THE GAME ... YOU GOT HIDDEN PROGRAM RUNNING INTO THE BACKGROUND.

Re-installing the game will do nothing.

Something else to try, increase virtual memory

Just double up what you show
