While trying to open the add button in te course manager, I got a buffer overrun message. I just ran the crash fuix, no help. What do I do?

buffer overruns occur when two programs attempt to occupy the same location in memory, e.g. links just attempted to poke something into memory occupied by another program. one of the best ways of preventing buffer overruns is to perform a clean boot before playing:

I got as far as # 6 , but so far it hasn't helped . I did not quite understand what #6 meant. What was I supposed to d ?

I have no clue why Terrell would have even given you that link. He knows that you haven't gone through any Computer 101 class and have no clue what is going on. I say that, not in a derogatory way.

First, what is contained in that link is useless information for what you need to do. I would do a Format C:, before I would do anything in that link, because ultimately, that is what the link is saying you have to do.

Here is the information that you need. Ask a friend, who knows something about computers, to help you. Otherwise, you will just be pi*sing in the wind like you have been for a long time. All you want to do is have stuff work. You can't do it on your own, or via help on the internet. You need hand holding, IRL.

what if I just uninstall it , then , reinstall it again?

I went ahead and uninstalled the game. Reinstalled the game. ran all the patches. and right now it works.

seriously, my thinking was, by the time you get to step 6, let us know what has happened so far. are you able to play without a buffer overrun after a clean boot? there has to be a computer professional or two here. we don't need to consult microsoft. (8

How about the expansion file question next to this one. It is very important. The only place I have seen the programdata file or folder is in the game when adding something. Otherweise I cannot find it.

hmmmm, dunno what to tell you. perhaps it's hidden and you need to be logged in as a computer administrator? maybe bruce is correct, shirley there's someone more computer literate you could hit up for some help? not knowing how you log in, or the attributes of your folders, makes it impossible to us to give a definitive answer.

Make sure that you have Windows set to show hidden folders showing. Then, yours is more than likely on you C: drive.

sorry about the <d>:\ thing. i just don't want anyone getting stuck thinking everything is a c drive. d just means drive. (8

Oh, for crying out loud. Couldn't someone just take the time to run down and help Jim out. I hear Baton Rouge is nice this time of year.

If I can not see a folder ( Programdata), how am I to locate it? That is all I want to know.
