first, click help, go down to the patching links section, and make sure you have the latest version of links 2001. then, at the top of the help section, make sure you run the server patch to point you to the correct game server at lspn.net. then click 'current events' and game options, and select links 2001 under game. finally run links 2001, login to the links tour, filter on the game options you selected on the current options page, and you'll be ready to click, rts, or ps (not necessarily in that order).

i know that all may be a little vague, but feel free to ask about any specific step along the way. there are plenty of peeps here that have been at this a long time, and are more than happy to help. (8

Then, join the tour. It's pretty inexpensive.

apologies, nearest'. and bruce, i respectfully disagree that since nearest' isn't a paying member, he/she doesn't have a right to complain. i would imagine the free events are there so peeps can decide whether to join. so if prospective players have complaints, it's up to us old codgers to give 'em a leg up. just to see what they can expect on the other side.

nearest', ya gotta understand, most of the members here have 10+ years invested, and a lot of dinero in courses. the two you mentioned, vahalla and pinehurst, were $20+ back when i purchased them. so expect a few feathers to be ruffled if someone cops an attitude complaining about playing for free, and purchasing courses that would only be a couple of dollars now.

hang around, try some tournaments, and maybe in 10 years, you'll be typing this same thing to farthest-something-or-other. (8

Actually, I don't care what you do. As I stated earlier, it's up to you, whether or not you want to join.
