Good article, Crissy. I think it's a good idea by Tiger. He has played all over the world, not to mention winning all over the world, so he does have the experience and resources to be very creative in designing some fine golf courses just like other great players have done. I think it's another way that Tiger wants to give something back to the game of golf and to those who love the game and have supported him during his great career. His parents brought him up instilling that "give something back" mindset and creating some more great courses around the world is another way of doing that. He certainly does not need the money so it's not about making money for him. He's already well on his way to becoming the 1st golfing billionare.
Well, that's my take on it.
Thanks for posting it, Crissy. :)

it might be interesting if TW himself was designing the tracks, but as with jack nicklaus' design firm only the heaviest hitters (biggest money) are actually going to get a course totally designed by the master. TW will have a skilled technical staff that will do 99% of the work.

if you read the commentary of the elite course architects over many years, the verdict has been that the tour players are the absolute worst evaluators of course architecture, and that they they ought to stick to playing.

there were complaints that nicklaus designed courses to favor his style of play, which was not all that bad a distortion, but tiger would have to severely dumb down any design that provided a challenge to his game for it to be playable by everyday human beings. lw

Thought I heard him state that the courses he's designing would be playable to a WIDE range of golf abilities.
