T is correct, after 12 events at the outside, everybody's pretty much sorted out in pretty much the same general ranking they had the season before, unless they got adventurous and moved up a level or two. but hope springs eternal. you know: "if only we could start fresh, i swear i won't be swinging for the fences all the time"...riiight.

i voted for five months because asymetrical 20 or 21 week seasons would never start or end in the same months each year. it's long enough for the stats, flights, and rankings to be convincingly set in concrete, yet just short enough to avoid drawing a growing chorus of the inevitable whining to reset.

shorter seasons, even with an aging rule, would allow some players to skip tough events and work the short clock. in a 12 week (three month season), a player could maintain a ranking by completing only six events. not much of a test. lw

Can't see why it isn't just like the PGA, so I'll say 8 months :)

I'm hoping there will be a segment at LSN that mimics the PGA Tour with prize money and all. It would be way cool to see which players win the majors and maybe even a grand slam. My fingers are crossed. :D

I'm doing the first season for only 3 months so we can adjust the rankings and other things as necessary without putting too much time into stats. After that I'm moving to 6 month seasons. However, your lifetime and season stats will always stick around. As we start new seasons another season will be added to your stats page in the Seasons tab.

Good job!
Is the course difficultly factor applied to this weeks Official LSPN Events, or will that wait until you're ready.

Don't listen to Murray, Mark. Make it back tees-firm-fast and difficult positions. HEHEHEHE

We're going to determine the course difficulty factor as we go along. The rounds you guys play in this first season are going to determine the difficulty. The course difficulties are going to be fluid for a while until we get a lot of rounds in and play all of the courses.

No ladies tees in official events! This first week is going to be tough but things will fluctuate as time goes on. I need a good sample for course difficulties ;-)
