I am in need of HELP

Postby Dr golf on Sat Jan 11, 2025 12:34 pm

to anyone who can help.............I have been a long time Links player since 1989 and just a few days ago I had an error message when I tried to access an online game. I did a complete computer restart. I lost my links game and had to download it again. Each time I downloaded it i was unable to play the game. I would select course and begin the game and would attempt my opening tee shot. When I hit my driver the screen would change to the opening screen shot. It would not take me to the place where the ball landed. The screen would not follow the flight of the ball but change back to opening screen shot. I deleted links several times and downloaded it several times all with no luck. Please help!!!!!
ps; I have been downloading the game from links country club if that helps you. Thank you

Lower your monitor's resolution to 1024 x 768 and see if that gets your game going. If it does follow this thread's advice

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4526&p=36668&hilit=changing+screen+resolution#p36668

If it don't let us know and we will keep thinking.

I did a system restore back to 1/9/25 am and everything works just as it should. I have one issue though...... When I download a course, I cannot extract or upload it ? I don't seem to be able to upload the courses. I don't get the crz. file.. Do I need to download an extractor program? Prior to this, I never had an issue. Every course downloaded would contain a crz file which I would dump into the course section of the links file. Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance

I don't know you, so if my answer sounds dumb it's because you don't tell me much with your question. When you download a course, your course file (.CRZ) is inside the .ZIP file. I use Winzip, but you can also use Microsoft to do the unzipping. How did you do the unzipping before?

Go into Windows Explorer (flying window key + e). Look for the greater-than symbol (>) to the left of the folder name on the left panel of the page. When you click on that symbol, it changes and points down, and reveals any zipped files inside that folder! Those zipped files can have a greater-than symbol (>) beside them if they are holding folders or no symbol if they are just holding files. When you click on the zipped file name, the right panel shows the files that are contained inside that zipped file along with folders if there are any. You can now Click-and-drag files (click and hold the mouse button down while you are dragging the file to it's destination. Google can describe this better than I can.
