DrunkBobWetPants Question!

Postby MasterMontgomery on Thu Oct 24, 2024 3:28 pm

I was playing PLSA champ/challening online. Always do just a habit, Was on hole
12 i think. When I noticed DrunkBob appeared on the leaderboard with a score of
-17. (Nice Rd) i continued to play an got thru 1 or 2 more holes when DrunkBob
appears on the the leaderboard at -35 having played the 2nd round while i only
could play 1 or 2 holes. i would say 5 mins had past, anyway Bob how did you do
it? Unless there is something about turning scores in that i dont know.
Any comments on this one are welcome. An this is not a complaint just
a question.

Doug :o  :?

A good question Doug. I never play online just for the chance that a blip on the connection happens. I have seen you playing a round several times before and also Dirk. Dirk plays at a very fast pace and you, to me, at a slower pace. Maybe studying lie, wind, pin placement, whatever. I know I play slower with any kind of wind but can play quite fast in a NW round. But playing a full round while you play two is real fast. Maybe you played more holes than you thought. I would like to play a few rounds with several guys just to see how they play and how close they get to the holes on approaches. I played against Roy I think a few times in the Greenkeeps room I think it was called.

Doug knows Greenkeeps well, he belonged to that yahoo group, as did I.

Greenkeeps room was fun I remember. No doubt a round in no wind is very possible in 20 minutes with maybe a few minutes more with a breeze. So if Doug takes closer to 40 or 45 minutes for a round whic(n8 think he might have said in the past it sounds feasible.

The question for me is why DBWP and those other names quit events so regularly when it seems a less than perfect score arrives.

Yes, i remember it well. Great fun there we had some good matches. Andy was the one who ran it.
a nice young person. Actually Echoes you are the only linkster that i have ever met or talked to.
We talked on the phone years ago if i recall right.
I did get to play as Roys partner several times. He and Lacers always got better the closer to
the hole they got. Excellent chippers and putters.

I thought of George just a couple weeks ago when the flight was at Barton. He would always complain there was no way to keep the ball on the fairway on hole 4 in FF conditions. I didn't care about that i feared going left on 15 and carding a 15 lol.
We talked when you were going to Cali to visit your daughter, i remember your car died on the trip.

Barton 15 left owns at least a half dozen of my golf-balls ..... once down there it can be a bear to get back up ;}

very nice cards in the raw tourney echoes, there are some very sloped greens there.

Thanks... tough tract . Most fairways require boating in the mowers since there are so many island sections. Don't surprise me since its a EB design.
