End to Links 2001?

Postby Hittman on Mon Oct 09, 2006 4:20 pm

I know I must sound like a broken record....but in the 30-some-odd tourneys presented, there are no Links 2001

I guess that once the old color-shift site fades into oblivion, so goes Links 2k1?

Can we get some input from admin?

I have no answer for you, Hittman, but I know there is a 2001 tournament run at Kiss Tours (http://www.kisstours.com). It's called the "Senior Tour", and even if there is eventual support for 2001 here, you may want to check out Kiss Tours.

a fine game that 2001 is i feel we must move on as 2003 is fighting for its very life and in my opinion is a better version i feel the people behind this lobby should stick to 2003 as always i differ to be wrong

while there doesn't appear to be a 2k1 option in the user designed events that have been unveiled this week, 2k1 may still be supported in the weekly scheduled events that will appear later. there are a number of problems involving specific course files that have caused problems on the links beta site that would have to be worked out to make the course file choices for 2k1 and 2k3 optimal for each version. lw

I was originally going to stop 2001 tourneys but I think I'll put it back. The reason I was going to stop support is because 2001 doesn't send certain information I need in order to do some new things I have planned for the tour. So what I think I'll do is just have player created tourneys for 2k1 and no official tourneys and no clubhouse support.

Also, there'll be no way to filter the list so when you log in you'll see ALL the 2k1 tourneys. If a lot of people make tournies, you'll see a huge list.

This is coming soon. I wanted to get tournies running smoothly first.

Thank you, Mark, for your reply. This is good news to me because 2001 is the only Links game I play.

Just make sure the course is in the course manager and it should work.

Hi Mark,
The only real reason I still play 2k1 is because I have not been able to purchase 2k3. I have looked everywhere to purchase and upgrade to 2k3 to no avail. Anybody know where I can possibly find it then I can purchase and upgrade to 2k3.
Thanks
