it would be nice if ones flight tourney status did not alter whilst playing during the week imho

i was going to add this in the "really sad" thread but did not want to befuddle and make people feel i was jumping on their topic.

in a way they are related (again in my opinion) but i would like to remain in the same flight until that weeks play is over.

this is no biggie and opinions may differ :)

wasn't aware that one's flight changed as you play from rounds 1 to 4.

it makes sense that you stay in the same flight from beginning to end, regardless. After the end of the week, then your flight is assessed and ONLY altered then!

2 bob's worth.... :D

It's been like that for years. It has to do with when the handicaps are adjusted and if that affects the flight you're assigned to.

i just read the link gobucks posted and thanks for that re-direct.

i was not aware that my handicap can change during a tourney (on the fly as it was referred to) i have never seen that but does not mean it has not happened.

i have seen it multiple times during my flight tourney play.

either way it is not really a big deal but was glad to see that most people agree that it should change following a weeks play and not during.

this may be difficult or impossible to implement and therefore will just accept it for what/how it is.

If I'm not mistaken (and I often am. Ask my wife) handicaps are figured based on a rolling number of rounds. I think that number is 20. It drops the highest and lowest scores. It's not tied to the calendar.

Can someone confirm or correct?

this is probably so and i bet someone like gibby has a great handle on the intricacies. I seem to remember something like what you mentioned with having to play in 4 tourneys before establishing a handicap.

my point is that i would like the handicap and flight status (small pun intended) not to change until the next weeks play.

just because i would like that i also understand that for various reasons it will not happen that way and that's okay.

the game is still great fun and i am glad it is still around. i will add that, and i have said it before, i always appreciate the hard work people put in to still make the fun play here possible.
