Tee confustion

Just curious how a course whose conditions for the tourney say "Forward Tees" and yet the course plays from the back tees. Anyone else notice this and is there an explanation.
Thanks

Not much info so I've got to guess, but are you talking about the Gozzer Ranch tournament? The first round was from the Ladies tees, but the Ladies tees on that course are farther back than the Back tees.

Thanks for the reply. Knew I should have included the course. Think it was Emirates course on one of the Stableford tournaments. All the distances were more than 400 yds for par 4's and a couple of 600yd par 5's. That isn't "forward".

That would be because of the way the designer set up the course. There are a number of courses where the 'ladies' tees are the same if not longer than the 'black' tees.

Interesting. Makes zero sense, but interesting. Same thing applies with the Austin course in the current Stableford 9 tourney. Thanks for the reply.
